Facilitation Services
To be a professional Facilitator one must have trained to be impartial, objective and focused.

Facilitation is the ability to be a member of a focus group, team meeting or thought-shower (previously brainstorming) but without the need for input. It sounds easy, but is actually an acquired skill. Imagine hearing lots of great ideas and having many of your own, but knowing it would not be professional should you put your own forward.

A trained facilitator can lead a meeting and ensure everyone is heard so each contributes accordingly. A good facilitator will recognise who isn’t contributing and skilfully involve them in the meeting.

It is important as a facilitator to focus on the process as opposed to the content of the sessions in order to provide the team with the appropriate tools to steer them towards their desired outcome. A Facilitator who is focused on process adds more value to the team by providing a framework, tools, observing the group and taking action when conflict arises.

Team Effectiveness is the key of a good Facilitator and this can be achieved by ensuring the GRPI Model is used:

  • Goals
  • Roles
  • Process
  • Interpersonal Skills
Team Effectiveness can be achieved by being alert as a Facilitator and employing the correct tools at the most appropriate time.
